If the event is cancelled will I get a refund?

In the unlikely event that CN Cycle for CHEO is cancelled due to weather conditions, all participants who paid their registration fee will be provided with two options:

  1. Convert your paid registration fee to a donation and receive a tax receipt for the amount paid.
  2. Receive a full refund.

Is there parking available?

Indoor Parking at the Museum:
Indoor parking spaces are available for your convenience.

The rate is $2.75 per half hour.

The daily maximum rate is $13.

Outdoor Parking:
There is additional parking on streets around the Canadian War Museum.

Will the roads be closed to traffic?

Yes, except where we need to provide access to museums and churches along the route and where there is road construction. In these situations, cyclists will ride in one lane coned off from traffic for a few blocks. Several intersections have a strong police presence as we navigate in and around traffic. Please exercise additional caution and cooperate with direction of the police officers at these intersections. Please find the full list of road closures here.

Will the registration fee be waived if a participant fundraises the amount required for registration?

Yes, if you chose to participate as a fundraiser when you registered, your registration fee will be waived once you have raised the required amount. Should you be unable to raise the fundraising minimum any money raised cannot go to your registration fee and the full fee of $70 for adults and $20 for children will apply. Where is the CN Cycle For CHEO Event being held?

The event is being held at the Canadian War Museum and LeBreton Flats, located at 1 Vimy Place.

The Canadian War Museum is located at 1 Vimy Place, on LeBreton Flats, at the corner of Booth Street and Kichi Zībī Mīkan, west of Parliament Hill.

The CN Cycle for CHEO is being held on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

What is the start time for each event?

Event start times are as follows:

Ericsson 70K Cycle – 8:30 a.m.
National Bank Financial 35K Cycle – 9:00 a.m.
Feely Group 15K Cycle – 10:00 a.m.
Coughlin & Associates 2 & 5K Walks – 10:30 a.m.

What happens to the proceeds?

Proceeds from the CN Cycle for CHEO will benefit CHEO.

When is Registration and bib pick-up?

Register online by clicking here, or register in person at the Canadian War Museum. Pick up your bib, submit pledges and collect your fundraising prizes on the following dates. Please note there is no event day registration or bib pickup.

Team pick up ONLY: May 2, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Barney Danson Theatre)

Regular pick up: May 3, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Barney Danson Theatre)

Regular pick up May 4, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Barney Danson Theatre)

What do I need to bring to registration and bib pick-up?

To register for the event you will need to bring your signed registration/pledge form, photo identification, and any cheque pledges you have collected.  Remember: if you are under 18, your parent or guardian needs to sign your registration/pledge form
Please note there is no event day registration or bib pickup.

Do I need to pick up my bib before the event?

Yes! There is no registration or bib pickup available on event day.

When will my off-line donors receive their tax receipt?

Tax receipts will be issued within 90 days of the event. Please note that only donations for $20 or more are eligible for a tax receipt.

I have just registered. How can I change teams?

We’ll do it for you. Email info@cncycle.ca  with your name, the name of your existing team and the name of the team you would like to be on. Alternatively, call (613) 402-5361 and leave a message. 

I just made a pledge but I can’t tell if it went through. Could you check the donation?

I have registered twice – could you delete my extra registration?

Yes. Email info@cncycle.ca  with your request. Alternatively, call (613) 402-5361 and leave a message.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. But we ask that you please keep your dog on a leash, stay at the back of the pack and remember to stoop and scoop up after your pet.

Do we all have to do the same route?

No. Every participant should choose a route they can comfortably complete by 12 noon.

Can my kids ride their bikes on the 2K and 5K walks?

Yes, but please be careful to respect those walking.

My daughter is 3 and I can’t get a sitter for the day so she will be on my bike with me. Do I need to pay registration for her as well?

No. That being said, in the spirit of this being a fundraiser, we encourage you to make a donation on her behalf. Please be aware that food tickets are only provided to registered participants. 

Do I need to register all my children?

Since this is a fundraiser, we encourage all family members to register and collect pledges together to help kids with cancer. In addition, all registered participants receive CN Cycle for CHEO bibs, which can facilitate the identification of lost children or injured cyclists. Please note there is no event day registration or bib pickup.

I would like to register but don’t have a credit card.

Not a problem. We accept personal cheques when you register at the Canadian War Museum on any of the following dates:

May 4, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Barney Danson Theatre)

Where can I leave my bags when I am participating?

Stop by the baggage drop tent located at the secure bike parking lot.

Can I ride with a bike chariot/trailer?

Yes, you are permitted to ride a bike with a chariot or trailer.

Will CN Cycle for CHEO be cancelled due to rain?

CN Cycle for CHEO is a rain or shine event, however, in extreme weather conditions there can be delays or cancellation. For event day updates, please refer to the CN Cycle for CHEO facebook page, website and local media channels. In the event of a cancellation there is not a rain date.
