Join us on May 5

On Sunday, May 5th CN Cycle for CHEO participants take to the streets to support oncology care at CHEO! As a result of this exciting fundraiser, some streets will be partially closed to vehicle traffic to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

This year’s event will be held at the Canadian War Museum and LeBreton Flats with lane reductions/road closures in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at:

  • Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway (Ottawa River Parkway)
    (Closed both directions Booth St. to Island Park Dr.) 6 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway (Ottawa River Parkway)
    (Closed both directions Island Park Dr. to Carling Ave.) 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Booth Street (Closed both directions Albert to Wellington) 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Wellington St. (Eastbound lane closed Booth St. to Portage Bridge) 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
    Local access to Lett St. by designated lane on Wellington St. (eastbound and westbound) from Booth St.
  • Wellington St. (Eastbound curb lane reduction Portage Bridge to Bay St.) 8 a.m. – 10:30m.
  • Wellington St. (Westbound curb lane reduction Sussex Dr. to Bay St.) 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Portage Bridge (Closed Northbound to vehicular traffic – STO access only) 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Portage Bridge (Closed Southbound to vehicular traffic – OC Transpo access only) 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • Portage Bridge (Open Southbound only) at 10:30 a.m.
  • Wellington St. (Open Eastbound only from Portage Bridge) at 10:30 a.m.
  • Bay St. (Local traffic only Laurier Ave. to Wellington St.) 8 a.m. – 10:30m.
  • Laurier Ave. (Closed Bay St. to Queen Elizabeth Dr. on ramp – Local access only Bronson to Bay St. – Bay to Elgin St. closed to all but crossing traffic) 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • Laurier Ave. (Eastbound lanes closed Elgin St. to Nicholas St.) 8 a.m. – 10:30 m.
  • Queen Elizabeth Dr. (Closed both directions Laurier Ave. to Preston St.) 8m. – 11 a.m.
  • Prince of Wales Dr. (Northbound lane Preston St. to Heron Rd.) 8 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
    Local access to Agricultural Museum southbound only from Preston St. and Scenic Drive. Local access to churches northbound from Heron Rd.
  • Heron Rd. (Westbound lane reduction Riverside Dr. to Prince of Wales Dr.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Vincent Massey Park Access (Vehicular traffic can access Vincent Massey Park by using the on ramp from Heron Rd. westbound) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Heron Rd. (Eastbound lane reduction Vincent Massey Park to Riverside Dr.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Riverside Dr. (Southbound lane reduction Heron Rd. to Hogs Back Rd.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Hogs Back Rd. (Westbound lane closed Riverside Dr. to Colonel By Dr.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Colonel By Dr. (Closed both directions from Daly St. to Hogs Back Rd.) 8:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
  • Sussex Dr. (Closed Rideau St. to Rockcliffe Pkwy) 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    Local access to Notre Dame Basilica from St. Patrick St.
  • Sir George-Étienne Cartier Pkwy (Rockcliffe Pkwy)
    (Closed Princess St. to St. Joseph Blvd.) 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    Local access to Aviation Museum and Rockcliffe Flying Club from Aviation Pkwy.

Special note to all participants and volunteers coming to the Canadian War Museum from Quebec:

Due to closure of the Chaudières Bridge, note that the only access to Canadian War Museum from Quebec will be by Champlain Bridge to Scott Street to Tunney’s Pasture. There is a shuttle at Tunney’s Pasture. (closures in effect as of 8 a.m.)
