Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your event start time.

On-site Amenities

Bag Check

The Bag Check Tent is located near the Info Tent.

This is a free service provided to all registered participants. Drop off your bag, stroller or other belongings at the Bag Check Tent that you do not want to carry during the event. Use the baggage tag attached to your bib to check your belongings. You will need to pick up any checked baggage after your event. The Bag Check Tent is supervised at all times.

Submit your pledges along with the completed offline pledge form when you pick up your event bib.

Parking

Bikes

Secure bike parking is located near the Info Tent. This is a free service provided to all registered participants.

Bikes will be securely parked in a gated area, with no locks required. Our volunteers will tag your bike with your bib number. To retrieve your bike you must present your bib. Bikes and cycling shoes are not permitted inside the Canadian War Museum.


Cars

There is indoor parking at the museum but spaces are limited. Parking is usually at full capacity by 7 a.m. so please allow for time to find alternate parking.

Parking rates

Indoor parking is $2.75 per half hour.
The daily maximum rate is $13.

Alternative parking with free shuttle to the event grounds

Participants are encouraged to park their vehicle at Tunney’s Pasture (Brooke Claxton Building) and ride the free shuttle bus to the event grounds at LeBreton Flats and back. At both locations, buses will stop at the shuttle signs to pick up riders.

Tunney’s Pasture Departures 
• Every ½ hour from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Access via Columbine Blvd from Parkdale Ave.

LeBreton Flats Departures 
• Every 15 minutes from 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. 
• Access at the Booth Street entrance on the east side of the Canadian War Museum.

When making your way to Tunney’s Pasture, plan your route accordingly as the event will have many road closures in place.

Weather and Safety

Routes

Organizers have created fully-supported routes but construction and vehicle traffic in certain areas may intersect with these routes.

Visit the Routes page for detailed route breakdowns. Police officers and volunteers will be positioned along each route for your safety. Please obey all instructions.

Road Closures

The Kichi Zībī Mīkan will be closed between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.

See the full list of road closures. Be sure to choose an alternate route to the museum.

Weather Cancellation

CN Cycle for CHEO is a rain or shine event. However, in the case of extreme weather conditions (lightning, torrential rain, etc.) a notice will be sent by email at 6 a.m. on event day. In addition, a notice will be sent to all media outlets in the Ottawa area and posts will be made on social media.
