Anti-bike theft program – FREE for CN Cycle for CHEO participants

Ottawa Police Service (OPS), Citizens for Safe Cycling (Bike Ottawa) and Safer Roads Ottawa have partnered with 529 Garage, a bike registration app that connects cyclists to each other in the greater Ottawa area in an effort to reduce bike thefts. This app is FREE to everyone who registers in the 2021 CN Cycle for CHEO and will alert other bicyclists when a bike is stolen or missing by sending out a broadcast to all users. It also redirects to the OPS reporting site where cyclists can report and claim their bike if it’s recovered. Use your smartphone, tablet or register online at 529 Garage. For more tips on securing your bike click here for info from OPS.

To pick up your bike shield visit any of the locations listed below and show your CN Cycle for CHEO registration. You are reminded to complete your registration with 529 by downloading the 529 Garage app or visiting

Can I still fundraise?

Yes. We very much hope that you will and we have some great resources to help you. We have a free app to track your activity and toolkits with fundraising tips and tricks. There are some exciting fundraising prizes to be won as you reach fundraising goals.

You can use your personal fundraising page to capture donations and ask people to make their pledges online, or you can use the 2021 CN Cycle for CHEO Pledge Form (download here) to keep track of who donated to you. Please indicate the name, amount and full mailing address including postal code with each donation so that we can be sure to send your supporters tax receipts.

You can mail the Pledge Form, with one personal cheque for the total amount you raised, made payable to: CN Cycle – In Trust to the CHEO Foundation at 415 Smyth Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K1H 8M8. If your supporters wish to give you their personal cheques please ask them to make theirs payable to CN Cycle – In Trust as well and include them with your completed pledge form.
