1 I need help with my registration and/or fundraising page.

2 If the event is cancelled will I get a refund?

In the unlikely event that CN Cycle for CHEO is cancelled due to weather conditions all participants who paid their registration fee will be issued a tax receipt for the amount paid. No refund will be issued. Registration fees are converted to a donation. Participants will still receive all earned fundraising prizes.

3 Will CN Cycle for CHEO be cancelled due to rain?

CN Cycle for CHEO is a rain or shine event, however, in extreme weather conditions there can be delays or cancellation. For event day updates, please refer to the CN Cycle for CHEO facebook page, website and local media channels. In the event of a cancellation there is not a rain date.

4 Can I ride with a bike chariot/trailer?

Yes, you are permitted to ride a bike with a chariot or trailer.

5 Where can I leave my bags when I am participating?

Stop by the baggage drop tent located next to the secure bike parking lot.

6 I need to remove a team member from my team. Can you help me?

We’ll do it for you. Email us their name and the name of your team. Alternatively, call (613) 737-2784 and leave a message.  

7 I have moved. Would you take me off your mailing list?

Yes, please email your request to [email protected].

8 Where can I pick up a pledge form?

You can download a pledge form right here!  

9 I didn’t get a receipt – or I lost it – could you send me a new one?

Yes. Email us your name and the amount of your donation. Alternatively, call (613) 737-2784and leave a message.

10 How many people can be on a team?

There is no limit on the number of members any team can have, but the minimum number is five.

11 How much does it cost to enter?

Registration fees for adults are as follows:
  • Before March 15th - $40
  • Between March 15th and April 15th - $50
  • After April 15th - $60
Adults may choose to waive the registration fee by fundraising a minimum of $60 prior to event start. The registration fee for children 12 and under is $20. Children may choose to waive the registration fee by fundraising a minimum of $20 prior to event start. Important Note! Paid registration fees are non-refundable or transferable to a donation.

12 I would like to volunteer.

We would love to have you on board. Please check out the volunteer positions available and then sign up online.

13 I would like to make a donation but don’t want to do it online.

We accept both cash and personal cheques made out to “CN Cycle for CHEO – In Trust”. You can also donate by calling (613) 737-2784.

14 I would like to register but don’t have a credit card.

Not a problem. We accept cash and personal cheques when you register at the Canadian War Museum, in the Barney Danson Theatre, on any of the following dates:
  • Thurs, Apr 30      10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Fri, May 1            10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Sat, May 2           10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Sun, May 3          7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

15 Do I need to register all my children?

Since this is a fundraiser, we encourage all family members to register and collect pledges together to help kids with cancer. In addition, all registered participants receive CN Cycle for CHEO bibs, which can facilitate the identification of lost children or injured cyclists. Check out our How-to Videos!  

16 My daughter is 3 and I can’t get a sitter for the day so she will be on my bike with me. Do I need to pay registration for her as well?

No. That being said, in the spirit of this being a fundraiser, we encourage you to make a donation on her behalf. Please be aware that food tickets are only provided to registered participants.  Check out our How-to Videos!

17 Can my kids ride their bikes on the 2K and 5K walks?

Yes, but please be careful to respect those walking.

18 Do we all have to do the same route?

No. Every participant should choose a route they can comfortably complete by 12:15 p.m.

19 Can I bring my dog?

Yes.  But we ask that you please keep your dog on a leash, stay at the back of the pack and remember to stoop and scoop up after your pet.

20 I have registered twice – could you delete my extra registration?

Yes. Email us your request. Alternatively, call (613) 737-2784 and leave a message.

21 I just made a pledge but I can’t tell if it went through. Could you check the donation?

Yes. Email us your name and the amount of your donation. Alternatively, call (613) 737-2784 and leave a message.

22 I have just registered. How can I change teams?

No problem! Check out our How-to Videos to see how.  

23 When will my off-line donors receive their tax receipt?

Tax receipts will be issued within 90 days of the event. Please note that only donations for $20 or more are eligible for a tax receipt.

24 Do I need to pick up my bib before the event?

We encourage you to pick up your bib before May 3 to beat the line-ups on event day. If you pick up your bib early you can go straight to the start line on event day.  At registration and bib pick-up you can also submit any cash pledges you have raised and collect any eligible fundraising prizes.

25 What do I need to bring to registration and bib pick-up?

To register for the event you will need to bring your signed registration/pledge form, photo identification, and any cheque or cash pledges you have collected.  Remember: if you are under 18, your parent or guardian needs to sign your pledge form.  

26 When is Registration and bib pick-up?

27 What happens to the proceeds?

Proceeds from the CN Cycle for CHEO will be shared between three beneficiaries:  the CHEO Foundation, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Programs and Ronald McDonald House. Please click here to learn how your CN Cycle for CHEO donation is helping the oncology patients of today and tomorrow.

28 What is the start time for each event?

Event Start Times
  • Ericsson 70K Cycle – 8:30 a.m.
  • Coughlin & Associates 35K Cycle – 9:00 a.m.
  • National Bank Financial 15K Cycle – 10:00 a.m.
  • 5K Walk & 2K Walk – 10:30 a.m.
Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your event departs, in order to park, pick up your bib, etc.

29 Where is the CN Cycle For CHEO Event being held?

The event is being held at the Canadian War Museum and LeBreton Flats, located at 1 Vimy Place.

30 When is the CN Cycle For CHEO Event?

The CN Cycle for CHEO is being held on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

31 Where is the Canadian War Museum?

The Canadian War Museum is located at 1 Vimy Place, on LeBreton Flats, at the corner of Booth Street and the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, west of Parliament Hill.  

32 Will the registration fee be waived if a participant fundraises the amount required for registration?

Yes, if you chose to participate as a fundraiser when you registered, your registration fee will be waived once you have raised the required amount. The required fundraising amount is $60 for adults and $20 for children. If you have not fundraised the minimum amount required ($60 for adults, $20 for children), you will just need to pay the difference when you pick up your bib. If you chose to pay the registration fee upon registering there is no waiving of the fee nor issuing of a tax receipt. To view registration fees please click here.

33 Will the roads be closed to traffic?

Yes, except where we need to provide access to museums and churches along the route and where there is road construction. In these situations, cyclists will ride in one lane coned off from traffic for a few blocks. Several intersections have a strong police presence as we navigate in and around traffic. Please exercise additional caution and cooperate with direction of the police officers at these intersections. Please find the full list of road closures here.

34 Is there parking available?

Indoor Parking at the Museum:

Indoor parking spaces are available for your convenience.   The rate is $2.75 per half hour. The daily maximum rate is $13.00.

Outdoor Parking:

There is additional parking on streets around the Canadian War Museum. The following parking lots are all a short cycle (approximately one kilometre) from the Canadian War Museum:
  • Tunney’s Pasture – Brooke Claxton Building
  • Place de Ville – Queen and Kent
  • Place du Portage –  rue Maisonneuve
  • Terrasses de la Chaudière – rue Eddy
  • Zibi (accessed by Booth St and rue Eddy )

Shuttle Bus:

Participants are encouraged to park their vehicle at Tunney’s Pasture (Brooke Claxton Building) and ride the free shuttle bus to the event grounds at LeBreton Flats and back. Bus pick up will be located at the shuttle signs. See the designated parking lot in the map below. Tunney’s Pasture Departures
  • Every ½ hour between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
LeBreton Flats Departures
  • Every 15 minutes between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
